In Sept 1930 your club sent a floral tribute to the funeral of my Great Grandfather - Richard Pickles. He was described as a 'free member' of your club and lived at No 3 Cuerdale Street with his family. He was employed at Harle Syke mill until 1928. If any of your old time members know of any of his relatives still in the area, I would be most interested to hear from them (possible surnames of Holt, Whittaker, Anderton).
Wishing your club and members a healthy and properous future.

Is the smoking ban killing our pub and club trade?
http://www.innthecold.com
I Think it is,and although I am reading plenty in the local news feeds, the main press seems to be ignoring facts and truth.
I am finalising plans and dates for a 90 day tour and want to visit 1000 pubs and clubs.
How can you help?
I want to meet Landlords/Ladies,Stewards,committee members and customers to listen to their experiences of the ban.
Have you any stories or information that I can add to my web site?
Do you know any pubs/clubs in your area in trouble-or doing well? I want the truth.
If you agree we need changes to the smoking ban-sign the petition and forward to your email friends.

Thanks for your time,
Cheers

Spent many happy holidays at Briercliffe (Harle Syke) with my grandparents until I emigrated to Canada in 1966. I am planning a return visit to coincide with the Briercliffe Society's 25th Anniversary. Not sure where we'll be staying...any suggestions?
Certainly will pop in for a pint, if I may, with my Canadian husband.
